Inspire With Words Lettering Challenge

We are doing a lettering challenge in January 2024! I’ve really missed my lettering practice this year and feel a bit rusty, so I thought why not go all the way back to basics from where it all started 8 years ago! The reason why I got better quite quickly is because I participated in lettering challenges where I was encouraged to write a word every day and then share it on Instagram. It really made a huge difference to my progress. So this is what we are doing in January. I’ve made a list of 31 inspirational words to practice with: |

Here’s how it works:
1. Join the Fun: Follow me on Instagram – that's where I’ll be sharing my daily practice to inspire you. Use #InspireWithWords to share your awesomeness, check out what everyone else is creating and get even more inspiration ? 2. Daily Word Love: Starting January 1st, we’ll be starting our daily practice, using the provided prompts. 3. Practice your Lettering: Grab your go-to lettering tools and let's get artsy! Play with colors, styles, whatever vibes with your creative soul. 4. Deep Thoughts: While you're crafting, take a sec to really think about the word. What does it mean to you? How does it fit into your world? 5. Share the Love: Post your creations on social media. Tag me and use #InspireWithWords to hold yourself and everyone else accountable. I also love sharing your Insta stories on my page :) Why You Want Do This: 1. Good Vibes Daily: Inject some positivity into your day, one word at a time. It's like a daily mood booster! 2. Level Up Your Skills: Try new things, experiment – this is your chance to shine and maybe discover a whole new side of your creativity. 3. There are no strings attached - anyone can participate! It's perfect for beginners as well as seasoned letterers, especially if you are keen to get (back) into the habit of daily or more regular lettering practice.
If you need a little more help to get started, I've created a brand new set of practice sheets, especially for this challenge :) Each page has the daily word written in 2 different styles, and a freestyle section where you can play with your own styles and get extra creative :) So you can first practice each lettering style by tracing the word with the supplied brushes, and then try some new styles too ? Of course I will be participating as well, and create daily posts and/or videos for inspiration, and follow along your progress too. I probably need this challenge more than anyone!
If you are totally new to modern calligraphy and hand lettering on your iPad, I recommend you first grab my free iPad Lettering Starter Kit to practice the basic strokes and get familiar with using the Apple Pencil.
